About Fear
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)
I tell you these things because of your prayers; wherefore, treasure up wisdom in your bosoms, lest the wickedness of men reveal these things unto you by their wickedness, in a manner which shall speak in your ears with a voice louder than that which shall shake the earth; but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear. (Doctrine & Covenants 38:30)
Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come. (Doctrine & Covenants 68:6)
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. (Mark 5:36)
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)

While on the subject of being afraid; did you hear the one about the piece of rope that went into the bar and asked for a beer?
The bartender said, “We don’t serve rope, you’ll have to leave.”
The rope continued to ask for a beer whereupon the bartender got angry to the point of grabbing the rope and tying him in knots and throwing him out the door and into the street where the rope was run over several times by passing vehicles.
A few minutes later there he was again requesting a beer and the bartender responded, “Didn’t you hear me, we don’t serve rope!”
Okay, big finish here….

I am prone to fear and worry and guilt. God has helped me through all these years. At times, God has helped me to do things that I would not have been up to doing as readily without his comfort. God has given me strength and allows me to have positive goals.
Barb, I don't know where we'd be without the Lord's comfort and help. There are so many things in this world, and it varies from person to person, that can make us afraid or worried or guilty, but the Lord sees us through and makes it possible to continue.
