A Post and a Blog to Check Out

I read a post this morning that I think made some important points. It's called "Neither Shall There be Disputations Among You..." over at the blog, ....We Seek After These Things!

There was another post called "Understanding Religious Symbols. Books Part 1" which I thought was interesting, and I look forward to more about this topic.

I've added a link to this blog in my sidebar, as it promises interesting reading. I'm glad to have discovered it.

Thanks for putting up the link to my Group blog. It has been slow going at this point but I hope to have it updated more often. I am looking for people that would like to join that can post on the good and uplifting things out there. I am trying to set it in the areas of Faith, Charity, Gratitude and Hope. I believe that most answers to our questions can be found in those categories. If anyone is interested they can let me know.
thanks,
Tanya

Guy, a Happy Memorial Day to you, too!

Tigersue (that is such a cool name!), you're welcome. I just wish I'd discovered it sooner. But I can read backwards through the earlier posts and enjoy!

I listed a few other books, including the ones mentioned at the linked blog, at my currently on hiatus Straight and Narrow. It was under "Readings for understanding the Temple" where I listed what I consider the top 10 books on the subject. It is true that most of them are very technical and hard to follow if you don't have the background.

Mary, I had thought things right in line with that link and pretty much said something like that to someone who used to be on a group blog before I read it. But I do not have a way with words like that person. It is neat to hear something so well put!

I started to read a post on a group blog that delt with doctrine and I did not like where it was going. This was not one of the blogs that you linked to in this post. I stopped as I do not think it is good or positive to analyze what the Lord has revealed and what is sacred in such a manner. In fairness, I did not read so I do not know the full treatment of the issue. However, what I read was very negative in nature. And I had thought about maybe encouraging my nonmember sister to view this blog as she identifies herself with one of the words in the title. I am certainly glad that I read there before making such a mistake. That is not to say that I have not enjoyed other insightful posts on that blog.

Jettboy, thanks for the heads up about your listing of those books. I always like to find new ones on subjects I'm interested in.

Barb, I'm glad you liked the blog I linked to. I thought it was well-worded, too. I've had experiences like you mentioned in your second comment. I agree with your thoughts on dissecting the Lord's revelations overmuch. I guess it's best to read a blog for awhile before recommending it, especially to a nonmember--then if it has things they might misunderstand, you can just not recommend it. Thanks for your comments!
